When viewing properties please have as many members of your group as possible available to view. If the full address is listed then you can pop round and make an appointment with the current residents. If the full address is not listed then please contact our office to make an appointment. Montrose manage most of the properties listed, this means that you pay the rent to us each month and if you have any problems with your new home you deal directly with us and not your Landlord.

If you find a property that you want, you need to organise yourselves quickly. You will each need to sign the agreement. Each property requires a deposit equivalent to one month and one week of the rent. On signing the agreement, an administration fee of £60 (including VAT), is payable by each person.

If the property is not occupied during July and August, you may be able to just pay a summer retainer; this is usually half rent for the months of July and August. Some Landlords may let you live in their property for some of July and August for half rent but bare in mind that most of the maintenance is carried out during this period which will be inconvenient to you and the maintenance team. When you secure a property we will confirm when you will be able to collect keys. You will also need to sign a direct debit mandate to pay the rent, provide copies of your Student Council Tax Exemption Certificates, photo ID (passport or driving licence) and a guarantor or an employment reference if you are not a student.
